แสดงการเปิด wildcard subdomain ในโฮสติ้งที่ใช้ Cpanel การเปิด wildcard subdomain นั้น จะช่วยให้เราสามารถติดตั้ง WordPress 3 แบบ Multisite ใน sub domain ได้ หากเปิดไม่ได้ ให้สอบถามผู้ดูแลระบบ หรือหากโฮสติ้งไม่รองรับ แต่ต้องการทำ Multisite ก็ให้ติดตั้งแบบ sub-directory แทน
ผมมีเวบหลัก คือ xxx.com (สร้าง wildcard subdomain ใน Cpanel *.xxx.com => /public_html)
ผมสามารถทำ Multisite แบบ Sub-Domain ได้ สร้าง Site => test1.xxx.com , test2.xxx.com (สร้างได้มากเท่าที่ผมต้องการ)
และผมมีเวบรอง คือ yyy.com (สร้าง wildcard subdomain ใน Cpanel *.yyy.com => /web/yyy.com)
เวลา Install Multisite เกิด Error ทำให้ผมไม่สามารถใช้งาน Multisite แบบ Sub-Domain ได้
หมายเหตุ : ผมทำแบบ Sub-Directory ได้ไม่มีปัญหา ทั้งจากเวบหลัก และ เวบรองที่ Addon Domain เข้ามา

ใช้ host ที่เป็น cpanel ใช่ไหมครับ ลอง add domain แล้วให้มันสร้างโฟลเดอร์ใน public_html/ แล้วไปเพิ่ม * ใน subdomain ของ addon domain ใหม่ครับ ว่ามีปัญหาหรือเปล่า จริง ๆ ผมว่าไม่น่าจะมีปัญหา แต่ก็ไม่แน่ใจว่า แต่ละโฮสต์นั้น ให้ * wildcard ได้เฉพาะโดเมนหลักหรือเปล่า เพราะว่า ยังไม่เคยทำมากกว่านี้ครับ ลองทำแล้วลองมาคุยใหม่นะครับ หรือไม่ ลองสอบถามกับทาง hosting ดูครับ
